Information

By becoming a ‘Friend of Hay Farm’ your generous support is vital to the work done here at the centre and your donations are spent on the animals and their requirements.

The primary aim of the centre is to conserve and promote rare breed heavy horses. The Centre is a ‘not for profit’ organisation and survives solely on the donations made by you, our valued supporters. Your donations allow us to care for the animals and to develop the centre to ensure a future for these At-Risk Breeds.

Since opening Hay Farm in 2013 we have gained Approved Farm Park Status from the Rare Breed Survival Trust and we now work in partnership with them to protect our native rare breeds of Heavy Horse.

Here at the Hay Farm we also offer a ‘rescue facility’ for heavy horses that fall on difficult times. We bring these animals to the farm, and they receive vet care and as much rehabilitation as possible so they can live out their remaining days at the centre in safety, good health and in comfortable conditions.

Without your support we could not achieve any of the things we mention and so for that we thank you and hope you will visit us frequently, when you can see what your donations are achieving.
